Nap Time

I must admit that I really did not enjoying sleeping with an infant curled up against me (or across my chest) at first. I resented the fact that he refused to sleep any other way at night. I missed my sleep!

But now I kind of look forward to our sleep sessions (shhh... don't tell anyone). He's gotten more comfortable just sleeping wrapped up next to us and that's made a huge difference. If he's especially grumpy it's still easier to get him to fall asleep on his stomach while laying across my chest, but mostly he just sleeps between Michael and I.

Don't get me wrong though -- I'll take any opportunity to catch some sleep sans baby. It's fantastic to not have to worry about rolling over an infant and to sleep in whatever position I want (on my stomach!).

I never wanted to have a kid that sleeps in bed with us, but he's a needy little bugger! We're working on getting him to at least take his naps in his crib (really anywhere that isn't in our arms), but it's rough. We're trying to slowly teach him to self soothe, but the crying is tough (on us). Michael actually went and ate his dinner in the bathroom last night just so that he could try and block out the noise.

Like I said -- rough.
