Indoor Snow

The Monkey loves the snow and so do I, but that doesn't mean I want to spend hours in it every day like he does.

So what's a mum to do? Bring the snow indoors, of course. It worked out brilliantly, especially since what he's most keen on is eating the stuff.

We got over six inches of snow yesterday and, of course, I had to take some time to enjoy it yesterday and today. I thought I'd have to play by myself, but I'm happy to report that the Monkey LOVED playing in the stuff. He willing stomped around in the powdery stuff, even when it went up almost to his knees.

Nerf Gun

Technically this Nerf gun was part of our Christmas gift to our roommate, but Gaius kind of commandeered it (sorry Craig).

Gaius thought it was incredibly fun to fetch the darts that mom & dad shot onto the fridge, front door, entertainment center, etc etc. However, he also enjoyed gnawing on said darts before returning them to us -- so gun and darts are kind of dead now. They lasted just over a month.

I think Gaius spent a good 15-20 minutes playing with Butters this afternoon. It was glorious (because they're typically terrified of him)!

Throw tape through bars, watch cat attack, pull out of her reach, stand back amused, repeat.

The Swing-Set

Gaius has a new found love of the swing-set -- ok -- maybe it's not a new love, but still. Now he doesn't just enjoy the baby swing when we plop him in it, he actually walks us over and points at the swing or slide until we get the hint.

Playtime

We've been working on teaching Gaius how to roll/throw a ball. At first he was very excited that both mom & dad were playing with him, but he didn't quite get the point of it all. He just wanted to crawl back and forth between the two of us.

The next time we tried it out (these photos) he seemed to get the hang of it and he thought it was awesome!

Throw in a little Queen music being blasted in the background and you've got yourself a wicked awesome Tuesday evening.
